Richard J. SalemRichard J. Salem, Esq., a senior member of SLGPA, a graduate with distinction from Duke Law School, has practiced business and governmental law in Tampa for the past thirty years. Mr. Salem was admitted to practice law in Florida in 1972. Complex business and real property project related experiences include: leadership of the Ybor City Redevelopment Task Force, under the direction of Mayor Martinez, and, thereafter, representing property owners in assembling, zoning and land use concurrency, as well as structuring of their properties for redevelopment; serving as special counsel to the City of Clearwater and working with the City Commission, property owners and state agencies in the revision and enactment of development and land use codes for Clearwater Beach.Additionally, the firm has worked with The Lakeland Housing Authority (Contact: Herb Hernandez, Executive Director (863) 687-2911), Orlando Housing Authority (Contact: Vivian Bryant, Executive Director (407) 894-1500, ext. 1001) and Tampa Housing Authority (Contact: Kris Warren, Deputy Executive Director, (813) 253-0551, ext. 115) on Hope VI implementation, and is familiar with the opportunities and challenges included in such matters. Mr. Salem has also enjoyed the opportunity of being involved in state and federal trial work. He has served as not only a member of many trial teams, but has acted as lead (managing) counsel in numerous complex matters, including those involving complex business and real property transactions. T. Terrell SessumsT. Terrell Sessums, Esq. received both his B.A. and his J.D. degrees from the University of Florida. He was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1958 and is AV rated in the Martindale Hubbell Law Directory. As a former Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives, Mr. Sessums has extensive knowledge of, not only national, but also state and local dynamics. He also served as Chairman of the Florida Board of Regents and Chairman of both the Florida and Greater Tampa Chambers of Commerce.Mr. Sessums joined our predecessor, Salem Saxon, P.A. as a partner in 1998, and currently is part of Salem Law Group, P.A. Mr. Sessums focuses his fifty years of legal experience in assisting the firm's clients with their business services and governmental advocacy needs. His many years of service in the Legislature, the Florida Bar, and the community have earned him numerous honorary degrees and awards. Mr. Sessums continues to be active in a number of community organizations and serves as a member of the Board of Governors of the Florida Chamber of Commerce. Heather M. LangHeather M. Lang, Esq. joined the Salem Law Group, P.A. as an Associate Attorney in 2008. Ms. Lang has experience in handling probate and trust administration matters, corporate formation and preparation of corporate records, and general civil litigation.Ms. Lang received her Bachelor of Science degree, with honors, from the University of South Florida in 2005, and received her Juris Doctor, with honors, from Stetson University College of Law in 2008. Ms. Lang was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2008, the United States District Court, Middle District of Florida in 2009, and is a member of the American Bar Association, and the Hillsborough County Bar Association.
